First, before I say anything else, I need to tell you that Craig and Gerard are the NICEST people.
Despite me posting the winning tickets in the middle of last week, recorded delivery, one of them failed to arrive by Saturday morning. I was seriously panicking about this. I mean I offered a ticket to see the Yarn Harlot and it doesn't arrive... not good, really.
Craig, bless him, didn't bat an eyelid and gave me a replacement without a murmur. And after a few frantic emails and phone-calls (thank goodness for my iPhone) I managed to place the new ticket in the hands of the recipient. Craig (and Gerard), consider yourselves well and truly hugged.
I met people. I met more people. And still more people. It would have been lovely to be a stall-holder, but it's a 432 mile, seven hour and thirty-two minute trip (before you add in comfort stops and safety-breaks). And then it's the same on the way back. And two nights in a hotel. So really, I can't.
So I had the great luxury of just being me, and it was perfick, just perfick, as Pa from "The Darling Buds of May" would say. I can't even begin to tell you who I met, but rest assured I remember each and every one of you.
I am pretty pea-brained in the photographic department. Yarn I can do, but I was so busy enjoying everyone's company I forgot to take many photos of people. And there were a lot of people.
I met some famous people.
This is Jane Sowerby. We had met before at Woolfest. I had my copy of VLT on display beside some Mist laceweight and she came to say Hello and we discussed yarn. It was lovely to meet her again.
She had a tableful of lace.
Click for big-ness!
If I had knitted all that I don't think I'd be wanting a ton of knitters man-and-woman-handling it!
She is one brave lady.
I met Noo.
This is a Tempest cardi knitted in Yarn Yard bonny yarn. Pretty aren't they?
I met Harriet, winner of the iKnit ticket. (That's her on the left with me and Noo.)
And we wore our MSF T shirts with pride and collectively met Stephanie...
... who was, well, just herself, and a great ambassador for Knitters and for Canadians too.
She signed a book for me and a book for someone else who wasn't able to be there because she has a) a small baby and b) a serious heart condition which means she's potentially waiting for a transplant. Stephanie immediately wanted to know if she had a pager. She is a seriously good person.
I did buy things... you thought I was immune, didn't you?
Well I'm not!
Today I have been dyeing and planning and emailing people with New Secret Plans.
There will be laceweight and sock yarn for you to enjoy on the blog tomorrow and in the shop on Friday.
Why not bookmark the blog and then you'll know when the updates are coming?
Tomorrow I will tell you what I got up to on Sunday which involved this
and a rummage in Jane's sock drawers.
