I'm not sleeping very well at the moment. I wake up and BOING, that's me, at three and four in the morning, and it's quite common for that to be it, sleep-wise, for the night.
So I have taken up Nocturnal Knitting, especially when himself is away and I can put the light on without waking him up.
I know this isn't what you are supposed to do. You are supposed to rest with the lights off and wait for sleep to overcome you once more. The experts don't actually say (in finger wagging fashion) No Knitting, but they certainly wouldn't approve. When I am lying awake though, I just get crosser and crosser and more and more awake because I'm getting cross, so resting just doesn't do it for me, and now I go to bed with my knitting bag beside me just in case.
The funny thing is that despite the experts it seems to help a bit. Half an hour of rhythmic stocking stitch going round and round and round and round and I feel more relaxed, so while I may be awake, at least I'm not awake and cross.
And it does have benefits.
Almost a pair of socks.
It's the last day of the month so I hope to finish these this evening, and then I can start on the Stashbusters... but I think I may need some round and round and round Nocturnal socks for the middle of the night too, I don't fancy juggling multiple cakes of yarn in bed. Hmmm, what shall I choose?
I'm off to Asda this afternoon with parcels (Debi is shut on Wednesdays), and after that I will be the very irate woman at Customer Services who is demanding to speak to the Manager about Her Fence which was damaged two months ago by a delivery van, which has been reported, photographed, had letters sent about it. I am still waiting for as much as a postcard from them. I am prepared to be very cross indeed. And I'm not taking my calming knitting on purpose because I think a bit of Cross is what's required now.

PS. The thousandth order has gone through on the website this morning. Thank you. You know who you are. The person who did order 999 saw that the next one was going to be 1000, and ordered something extra, as a sort of thanks to me for something small I did yesterday. Wasn't that nice?
I would like to say a huge
Thank You
to ALL of you for your support. You are wonderful.
